Owners:
Elissa & Justin

Justin and Elissa both grew up in Colorado, and have been active in the Summit County community for several years. This couple shares decades of experience in both the corporate world and public service. As avid coffee and beer enthusiasts, Justin and Elissa agreed that there was an unfilled niche for handcrafted coffee and beer, and decided to create two beautiful mountain spaces in Keystone to cultivate and share these two delightful beverages with the community. As chief operator of Steep, most days you will find Justin sharing his knowledge of craft coffee roasting at our gateway location, or talking craft beer with patrons at our new location in River run Village. On days off, you will find these two fly-fishing on the river, Trekking into the backcountry, or shredding the powder! Cheers!!

HEAD Brewer:
Mike

Mike came to Colorado for a year and 30+ years later, he is still here. He is a professional snowboard bum and a hardcore river rat. Mike aspires to be a Baja off-road racer but is settling as the world's worst fisherman for now. he is also a local curling champion. When he isn't out and about, you'll find him playing video games. Mike has been at Steep since we opened in 2020, starting as our bar manager, he transitioned in 2021 to become one of our esteemed brewers of fine craft beer. His favorite drink is, well, just about all of them!! If you have a question about one of our brews on tap or just wanna hear some endless stories about alcohol, snowboarding, rafting or his glory days, mike is your guy.
