Owners: Elissa & Justin
Justin and Elissa both grew up in Colorado, and have been active in the Summit County community for several years. This couple shares decades of experience in both the corporate world and public service. As avid coffee and beer enthusiasts, Justin and Elissa agreed that there was an unfilled niche for handcrafted coffee and beer, and decided to create a beautiful mountain space in Keystone to cultivate and share these two delightful beverages with the community. As chief operator of Steep, most days you will find Justin behind the bar roasting craft batches of coffee. On days off, you will find these two fly-fishing on the river, riding into the backcountry, or shredding the powder! Cheers!!

The only thing he may be more passionate about than brewing beer is the Cardinals baseball team. You'll find him bearded and smiling in our brewhouse most days!
Cocktail & beer manager: Mike
Mike came to Colorado for a year and 20 years later, he is still here. He is a professional snowboard bum and a blossoming river rat. Mike aspires to be a Baja off-road racer but is settling as the world's worst fisherman for now. When he isn't out and about, you'll find him playing video games. His favorite drink is a Red Tide. . . Never heard of it? Mike will make you feel like you have been transported to the Caribbean after just one sip. If you have a question about one of our brews on tap or our craft cocktail list, Mike our cocktail and beer connoisseur will be able to guide you along.
coffee shop manager: Ryane
Ryane visited Summit County from Alaska two years ago and has no intention of leaving. She worked at a craft coffee shop in California for two years and has managed breweries and bars in both Alaska and California, as well as abroad. She worked at Red Buffalo Cafe in Silverthorne before making the switch to Steep. Ryane is passionate about keeping coffee quality- going as far as making syrups in-house, and using hand-chopped chocolate for mochas. Her favorite coffee drink is anything caffeinated, though a brown sugar cappuccino hits the spot most days. She loves to enjoy whatever beverage alongside a river with her book of choice. During the winters you'll find her riding the outback at Keystone, or drinking beer with her friends.
